The itch
Every Papo na Arena episode ends with the products of the week: tools, apps and services the guests are using. It’s one of my favourite parts, but in audio they get lost. Weeks later, all that’s left is the question: what was that tool someone mentioned?
The insight
Every recommendation has the same three pieces: an episode, a person and a product. Write that down in a structured way and the rest comes for free. The ranking, the categories and each person’s history are just different ways of looking at the same list.
What I did
I built the site on Replit and started logging the mentions by hand after each episode airs. From that list, the site offers four ways to browse:
Since it’s a fan project, the site says plainly that it isn’t affiliated with the podcast or with Product Arena.
The result
- Mentions
- 1,501
- Products
- 636
- Episodes
- 104
- People
- 413
Claude Code tops the ranking with 69 mentions. It was also the thousandth mention on the list, in episode 108.
What I learned
Before thinking about the interface, think about the shape of the data.
With the list well structured, each new view of the site became a filter, not another page to maintain.
